Position OverviewThe Procurement Category Manager, Cab in White role is responsible for developing and executing the Cab in White category strategy, driving cost reduction and supplier performance in the priority areas of quality, delivery and sustainability supporting International Motors’ business objectives.
The position is accountable for managing assigned Cab in White components and suppliers through effective category ownership, commercial execution, supplier relationship management, and risk mitigation.
The ideal candidate combines strong commercial judgment, analytical rigor, execution discipline, and the ability to influence across a complex cross-functional organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing, cost reduction, and supplier performance initiatives for the Cab in White category, aligning decisions to business objectives for cost, quality, supply continuity, sustainability, and technical capability.
- Use analytical skills to identify opportunities, develop fact-based recommendations, and build business cases for sourcing actions, negotiations, supplier strategy, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Navigate a complex cross-functional organization to move initiatives from idea to implementation, building alignment across engineering, operations, quality, finance, logistics, program management, and supply chain teams.
- Develop and manage supplier relationships and negotiate commercial agreements that drive accountability, performance improvement, risk mitigation, and long-term competitiveness.
- Perform total cost of ownership and cost driver analysis to support sourcing decisions, new business awards, supplier negotiations, value engineering, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Support new program sourcing and launch readiness by ensuring suppliers have the capability, capacity, timing discipline, and commercial alignment required to meet program objectives.
- Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders, escalate risks and issues as needed, and maintain momentum on critical deliverables and cross-functional initiatives.
- Collaborate with procurement teams across the TRATON family to identify sourcing synergies, market insights, common supplier opportunities, and best practices where applicable.
- Accountable for delivering category objectives by balancing cost, quality, risk, timing, and supply continuity while ensuring timely execution of business priorities.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience
- At least 1 years of lead experience

- Master's degree and at least 3 years of purchasing/procurement experience
- At least 1 years of lead experience
OR
- At least 8 years of purchasing/procurement experience
- At least 1 years of lead experience

Desired Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
- Procurement, sourcing, supply chain, engineering, operations, or related commercial experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
- Experience with stampings, fabricated metal components, body systems, structural components, Class A components, assemblies, or Cab in White commodities preferred.
- Strong analytical capability, including experience using spend, cost, capacity, supplier, and market data to identify opportunities, support decisions, and influence action.
- Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives in a cross-functional environment and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- Commercial acumen and negotiation capability, with the judgment to balance cost, quality, risk, program timing, and supply continuity.
- Strong organizational and execution skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt quickly, and deliver results.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand key product, process, or specification attributes that influence supplier capability, cost, quality, and risk.
- Experience working with legal counsel and internal stakeholders to develop and execute commercial agreements.
- Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and comfort preparing recommendations for leadership review in a fast-paced environment.
