  • Troubleshoot Equipment and Process Issues, including evening or weekend on-call support.
  • Implement and improve Root Cause Investigation Process and corrective actions.
  • Develop Standard Work and assist with Operator Training for new processes.

Full Job Description
As Process Engineer in the Cleveland facility, you are responsible for providing engineering support to production processes within the plant. Your responsibility takes on many forms and requires interaction with a multitude of different departments including technical, maintenance, planning, QA, RM procurement, and IT. You will interact with the operators and supervisors in each building to help define, initiate, and implement projects that improve the overall process from a safety, ergonomic, quality, and/or productivity standpoint. You will report to the Lead Operations Engineer / Process Engineering Manager and be based out of the Cleveland Facility.

Responsibilities:
  • Support Departmental EHS Initiatives (CORITY GS2, PSM, Audits, etc.)
  • Perform Process Optimization/Cycle Time Improvements, including the implementation of associated projects, including CapEx projects
  • Support the design, implementation, and commissioning of large-scale CapEx projects
  • Participate in and support department related Kaizen events
  • Troubleshoot Equipment/Process Issues - will likely involve some evening or weekend phone/on-call support
  • Execute/Improve Root Cause Investigation Process & Implement Meaningful Corrective Actions
  • Formula Maintenance, including the development of process templates, instructional changes, and operator/technical/QA change requests
  • Develop Standard Work and Assist with Operator Training, including leading training for the implementation of new processes and procedures
  • Support day-to-day operations, including providing engineering expertise while working with the maintenance department to troubleshoot equipment issues


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • This position requires a broad understanding of engineering systems and chemical processes along with 3 or more years' experience in various positions, with focus on manufacturing processes, batch paint processing experience preferred.
  • Candidate must demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail and managing complexity.
  • Working knowledge of pumps, mills, rotational equipment, piping as well as material movement desired.
  • Experience in initiating investigations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as ability to be self-motivated and self-directed to seek out solutions to large facility problems
  • Knowledge of industry regulatory requirements, including EH&S requirements/responsibilities, PSM a plus.
  • Lean/6 sigma and Toyota manufacturing principles experience a plus.


The salary for this position is $75,000 to $90,000.
