Responsibilities

  • Develop, create, and execute LSR and Thermoplastic Scientific Molding processes.

  • Set up and troubleshoot injection-molding machines to identify problems.
  • Set up, program, and troubleshoot auxiliary equipment like robots and temperature controllers.
  • Document process parameters according to Master Process procedures.
  • Verify acceptability of physical attributes of molded parts.
  • Address high reject levels by optimizing the molding process and collaborating with other resources.
  • Evaluate job efficiency for cycle time reduction and improvement opportunities.
  • Support MRB and CAPA processes.
  • Utilize IQMS ERP software for daily activities.
  • Maintain effective communication and customer relations through technical reporting.
  • Train Process Technicians and share acquired skills within the company.
  • Comply with applicable ISO policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Full Job Description
Come join Nolato Contour's team as a process engineer! You will be primarily responsible for statistical process development and monitoring of injection molding processes for new and existing programs.

Nolato Contour specializes in injection molding and assembly of plastic and silicone for medical/pharma customers.

We have an immediate opening for a Process Engineer.

Responsibilities:
  • Development, creation and execution of both LSR and Thermoplastic Scientific Molding processes.
  • Process development and technical reporting on new and existing tooling.
  • Set up and troubleshoot injection-molding machines to evaluate problems.
  • Set up, program and troubleshoot auxiliary equipment: robots, hot runner controllers, temperature control units, servo controllers and pickers.
  • Documents process parameters by utilizing the Master Process documentation procedure.
  • Verifies the acceptability of all physical attributes of the parts including date code, color, revision level, version, part number, size, critical feature detail, Class A surface appearance, etc. as required.
  • Addresses unacceptable reject levels by working on the molding process itself or acting directly to employ other resources such as tool room staff, engineering, maintenance, etc. to help improve reject levels.
  • Will routinely evaluate jobs for opportunities to reduce cycle time and other improvements whenever time is available. Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Support MRB and CAPA processes.
  • Use IQMS ERP software for day-to-day activities and to keep alignment with organization.
  • Foster good external & internal customer relations and maintain effective communication via technical reporting.
  • Participates and leads the training of Process Technicians.
  • Actively seeks training to improve skills and ensures skills learned during training are shared within the company.
  • Support and comply with all company, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and ISO 14001 Policies, Procedures, SOP's, Work Instructions as they apply to the job classification.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe work environment keeping work areas free of clutter.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in related manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Statistical manufacturing background with experience in process capability preferred.
  • Experience in an ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and FDA certified environment is desired.
  • Must be familiar with inspection, testing and precision measurement methods.
  • Solid understanding of injection molding processing and troubleshooting or molding problems in highly cosmetic thermoplastic materials and part geometries on a variety of different makes of molding machines is required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and an understanding of polymers as well as basic tool design and the ability to apply them to a variety of troubleshooting scenarios.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks for multiple projects.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a positive, team player in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication with leadership capabilities supporting the company's goals, objectives and philosophies.
  • Employee is required to sit, stand, walk, bend and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
