Job Description

Process Engineers at Kimberly-Clark provide leadership in the design, development, optimization and operation of manufacturing and supporting processes. The ideal candidates will have expertise across multiple technologies in both staff and plant environments and will have a demonstrated ability to effectively provide work direction to a broad range of team members. The incumbent reports to the Product System Leader and receives direction in the form of broad assignment objectives.

About You

In one of our engineering roles, you'll focus on winning with consumers and the market, while putting safety, mutual respect, and human dignity at the center. Job responsibilities include:
  • Lead single or multiple product or process improvement projects with a financial scope of up to $10 million from conception through commercialization.
  • Provide functional leadership and creativity in the initiation of design, development and optimization of manufacturing equipment and processes to meet unit objectives.
  • Develop knowledge and skills so as to be recognized for expertise and functional leadership in application of engineering principles, scientific analysis and project management while providing advice and counsel to others.
  • Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines. Provide for the safety and wellbeing of technicians and other personnel.
  • Assist in the development of others in the area of incumbent's expertise, while demonstrating an understanding those with a diverse background or experience.
  • Seek, recognize, define and solve problems to achieve unit objectives. Identify complex technical issues to determine root cause.
  • Analyze and improve process capability to deliver a reduction in defects and variability. Identify, develop, and provide leadership to implement products, processes, materials, systems and procedures to achieve desired business results.


To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering or relevant scientific discipline. Prefer Chemical and/or Pulp and Paper degree from an accredited College or University and 3+ years of experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments. Normally requires mill and staff experiences. Prefer candidates with 5-8 years or more of experience in both Mill and Staff environments.
  • Past experience in paper making (Tissue, Towels) role highly desirable.
  • Strong experience using manufacturing analysis tools, such as: SPC (statistical process control); design of experiments; process capability studies; Six Sigma; Others.
  • A recognized expert in manufacturing processes with a demonstrated ability to translate that knowledge into execution of process and capacity improvements in major
    capital projects.
  • Experience and expertise with Kimberly-Clark manufacturing process engineering technology, procedures, processes and products preferred.
  • Experience working with external technical service providers preferred.
    Demonstrated continuing self-development (i.e., progress toward an advanced degree) preferred.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve project results within required timeframes.
