Full Job Description
$75,800.00-$104,200.00 Annual This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire.   Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.  At Johns Manville, we're looking for a motivated, hands-on Process Engineer who is ready to make an impact from day one and grow into a technical leader within our manufacturing organization. This is an exciting opportunity for an up-and-coming engineer who enjoys solving problems on the plant floor, working closely with operations teams, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you will provide technical support for key manufacturing assets, helping optimize production output, material utilization, energy efficiency, and product quality. You'll use data analysis, process monitoring, preventative maintenance practices, and structured problem-solving techniques to identify improvement opportunities and implement sustainable solutions. You will partner with operations, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to improve plant performance while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a world-class manufacturing environment. Your Day-to-Day • Be a visible and engaged presence on the manufacturing floor, working directly with operators and production teams to understand processes and identify opportunities for improvement. • Analyze process performance data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions. • Execute and support standard process controls, operating procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives. • Champion a strong safety culture by promoting safe behaviors and actively supporting safety improvement efforts. • Participate in root cause corrective action (RCCA) investigations and develop sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence. • Plan, execute, and analyze process trials and Design of Experiments (DOE) activities to improve manufacturing performance. • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality, and technical teams to resolve process-related challenges. • Identify and lead process optimization projects that improve efficiency, reliability, quality, and cost performance. • Support equipment installations, plant construction activities, and startup efforts as needed. • Share technical learnings and best practices across the organization and participate in broader technical communities. • Assist in evaluating asset performance and optimizing raw material usage to support operational excellence. • Perform other duties as assigned. What You Bring to the Team • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a relevant technical field with a minimum of 1 year of experience in industrial continuous process manufacturing. • Experience of identifying and implementing process improvements. • Demonstrated problem solving skills including complex data analysis. • Proven results orientation including the ability to lead key projects to successful completion. • Experience with DOE for process improvement. • Solid interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. • Ability to set and communicate expectations to team members. • Demonstrated collaboration skills including the ability to interact with a broad range of employees. • Proven ability to make timely decisions. • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. • Proven analytical and quality improvement ability. • Ability to interface at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally. • Work environment is typical of a manufacturing facility and may include exposure to cold, heat, elevated noise levels, moving mechanical equipment, heights, dust, mist, gases, fumes, extensive walking, and climbing.
