Department: Process Department (Engineering)

Job Title: Process Engineer

Overview:

he Process Engineer is responsible for owning and continuously improving a defined group of machines and/or manual workstations on a high-speed assembly line. This role serves as a technical problem-solver and process owner, ensuring equipment performance, quality, safety, and throughput meet site KPIs through strong documentation, daily support, root cause analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with Production, Equipment, Quality, Technical Engineering, and global vendors.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Act as the process subject matter expert for a group of 5-10 machines and/or manual workstations on a high-speed assembly line.
  • Develop, maintain, and update technical/process documentation including SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), OCAPs (Out of Control Action Plans), RCA/CA (Root Cause Analysis/Corrective Actions), and other standard formats.
  • Support daily MDI (Managing Daily Improvement) meetings and drive actions to eliminate bottlenecks and improve daily output.
  • Participate in the daily MRB (Material Review Board) process and provide RCA and corrective actions to reduce recurring quality issues (including top daily defects).
  • Develop training materials and standard work instructions for assigned process areas; transfer knowledge to OJT (On-the-Job Trainer) team.
  • Conduct operator certification as needed after training completion to ensure process adherence and consistency.
  • Partner with the Equipment team to respond to machine stoppages requiring EM (Emergency Maintenance) and support rapid recovery to resume production.
  • Coordinate with the Equipment team on PM (Preventive Maintenance) scheduling for the assigned machine group and evaluate PM effectiveness to improve uptime and stability.
  • Manage resources and technical actions within the assigned area to achieve KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and drive CI (Continuous Improvement) initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Project Engineers during all phases of improvement projects affecting the assigned process area (scope, implementation, validation, handoff).
  • Partner with Quality Engineers to resolve ongoing quality issues and implement engineering/process changes to prevent recurrence.
  • Coordinate with Technical Engineers on material-related tests, trials, and process/material changes.
  • Communicate and coordinate with foreign vendors and external resources provided by HQ as needed; use company-provided A.I. translation tools when required.

Key Requirements & Competencies:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, or a STEM-related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a high-speed assembly line/manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex machinery and/or robotics applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to perform structured RCA and implement corrective actions.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work cross-functionally with Production, Equipment, Quality, and Engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); working knowledge of MS Project and Visio preferred.
  • Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Bilingual Chinese/English is a plus.
