DescriptionFrazer, a leading builder of emergency medical vehicles and mobile healthcare units, is seeking a Process Engineer II to join our manufacturing engineering team. In this role, you'll analyze how we build, find the inefficiencies others miss, and engineer the improvements that make our production safer, faster, and more consistent. Your work directly shapes the quality of the vehicles that first responders depend on every day.
What Does a Week in the Life of the Process Engineer II Look Like?- Walks the production floor, studies how work actually flows, and pinpoints where variation, waste, or bottlenecks are quietly costing time and quality.
- Digs into scrap, rework, and defect data, then runs structured root cause analysis - 5 Why, fishbone, Pareto - until the real driver surfaces.
- Designs and implements corrective actions, then verifies with data that the fix actually held and didn't just move the problem somewhere else.
- Writes and refines standard work, SOPs, and work instructions so the right way to build becomes the only way it gets built.
- Runs cycle time studies and process maps to measure current performance and prove the impact of the improvements put in place.
- Partners with quality, production, supply chain, and maintenance to solve cross-functional problems no single team could crack alone.
- Reviews readiness for new products and process changes, flags the risks early, and helps define processes that scale cleanly to the floor.
- Coaches and trains production teams on updated processes so the improvements stick long after the project closes.
Required Education and Experience:- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
- 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD software.
- Working knowledge of structured problem-solving and continuous improvement principles.
Preferred Education and Experience:- Experience in a Lean manufacturing environment and Six Sigma or Lean certification.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and production planning tools.
- Hands-on experience with metal fabrication equipment - fiber lasers, punches, press brakes, weld cells, and finishing lines.
Skills (to Pay the Bills)Here's a list of a few competencies that the Process Engineer II at Frazer should have...
- You're analytical to the core - you trust data over hunches and you can prove why a process works or doesn't.
- You're precise. Details matter to you, and "close enough" isn't in your vocabulary when it comes to a process.
- You're a natural problem-solver who actually enjoys chasing a root cause until you find it.
- You think in systems - you see how one change ripples through the whole operation.
- You're genuinely curious about how things are made and always looking for a smarter way.
- You can explain complex technical work clearly, whether you're writing an SOP or training an operator.
What's in it for you:- A weekly paycheck - you get paid every Friday.
- Company shutdown from Christmas through New Year's, plus 10 paid holidays and PTO that starts accruing from day one.
- On-site micromarket, flexible schedules, and a real work-life balance.
- Free financial wellness classes plus professional development and skills training.
- 401k with company match, health, dental, and disability coverage.
- A culture built on honesty, accountability, and continuous improvement - not politics.
