Process Engineer II

Schedule: Monday through Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM


Bilingual English/Spanish Required - Candidates must be bilingual in English and Spanish and able to communicate effectively in both languages within a manufacturing environment.
Job Summary

Greif is seeking a bilingual Process Engineer II to help optimize the interconnected systems, equipment, and processes that support our manufacturing operation. This role uses engineering expertise, data analysis, and hands-on problem solving to improve process performance, reliability, quality, and cost effectiveness.


This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who enjoys being close to the manufacturing process, investigating problems, conducting trials, and turning technical findings into practical improvements.


What You’ll Do

As a Process Engineer II, you will evaluate manufacturing processes, conduct trials and analyses, troubleshoot process and control issues, and recommend improvements. You may also manage engineering projects, lead small project teams, and provide technical guidance and training to less experienced colleagues.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform process trials and analyses and recommend improvements related to process optimization, machine breaks, chemical processes, and overall manufacturing performance.
  • Identify and resolve issues with existing control strategies while uncovering opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and operating data to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
  • Perform calibration testing on facility instrumentation.
  • Investigate customer complaints, identify contributing factors, and support appropriate corrective actions.
  • Prepare monthly quality and production reports to support operational decision-making.
  • Support engineering projects and process improvement initiatives from evaluation through implementation.
  • Interpret, communicate, and implement company policies and practices.
  • Maintain current engineering knowledge by staying informed of developing technologies, processes, and industry practices.
  • Lead small project teams as needed and provide technical training and guidance to less experienced engineering colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively with manufacturing and cross-functional teams to solve technical and operational challenges.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical education and experience.
  • Typically 4-8 years of engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Experience working in a steel manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
  • Broad understanding of manufacturing processes, industrial instrumentation, electrical systems, and chemical processes.
  • Experience identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving manufacturing process issues.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
  • Project management skills with the ability to organize and execute multiple priorities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to colleagues with varying levels of technical expertise.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of industrial instrumentation, electrical systems, manufacturing processes, chemical concepts, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to evaluate complex manufacturing and engineering challenges.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Understanding of financial concepts, including cost analysis and budgets.
  • Ability to explain complex procedures and technical concepts in clear, easy-to-understand terms.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with relevant engineering software, including CAD.
  • Ability to lead small project teams and provide technical guidance to less experienced colleagues.

Compensation Range:

The pay range for this position is $103,900.00 - $176,800.00 annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between105,000.00 to115,000.00 annually. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
