What You'll AchieveAs an
Process Development Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for determining operations required for assembly and test of products by reviewing specifications and other engineering data, and developing, implementing, and maintaining methods, operation sequences, and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. You will work with
ODM manufacturing partners and cross-functional engineering teams on
factory readiness, process optimization, capacity expansion, and new product introduction projects .
What You'll AchieveAs an
Process Development Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for determining operations required for assembly and test of products by reviewing specifications and other engineering data, and developing, implementing, and maintaining methods, operation sequences, and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. You will work with
ODM manufacturing partners and cross-functional engineering teams on
factory readiness, process optimization, capacity expansion, and new product introduction projects .
You will:- Develop, qualify, and implement manufacturing processes for the assembly, test, and integration of hardware products at ODM partner facilities
- Drive accountability with ODM manufacturing partners for the execution of approved capital projects, equipment installations, and production readiness milestones
- Lead factory infrastructure, IT, automation, and capacity expansion projects from concept development through implementation, qualification, and operational handoff
- Review and validate capital equipment proposals, tooling investments, and factory capacity plans, ensuring alignment with business requirements, cost targets, schedules, and return-on-investment objectives
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity through collaboration with ODM operational and engineering teams
- Analyze manufacturing performance data and identify opportunities to optimize production flow, equipment utilization, cycle time, yield, and overall operational efficiency
- Monitor manufacturing operations to ensure compliance with approved process standards, quality requirements, and operational best practices
- Design, deploy, and sustain efficient production and business processes supporting manufacturing, material replenishment, and order fulfillment activities
- Evaluate emerging manufacturing technologies, automation solutions, and process methodologies for implementation within ODM factory operations and infrastructure
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective action initiatives to resolve process, quality, capacity, and operational challenges.
- Provide technical leadership and engineering guidance for manufacturing projects, supporting cross-functional teams and ODM engineering resources.
- Manage complex, high-impact engineering assignments involving new product introductions, capacity expansion, process optimization, and factory readiness activities
- Collaborate with New Product Introduction, Product Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and ODM partners to support product launches and ongoing production support

Essential Requirements- Fluent in both English and Spanish, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across global manufacturing teams and supplier organizations
- 8+ years of experience in Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Technical Project Management within high-volume manufacturing environments
- Must support ODM manufacturing operations in Mexico 3-4 days a week
- Strong knowledge of industrial engineering principles, including process flow analysis, production line balancing, facility layout optimization, and operational performance analysis
- Experience working with ODM/contract manufacturing in a fast-paced electronics or high-tech manufacturing environment
Desirable Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related engineering discipline
- Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and drive accountability across internal teams and external manufacturing partners
CompensationDell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $119,200 to $163,900.
