Full Job Description
Description & Requirements

We are seeking a Team Lead to drive the global evolution of Bloomberg's private markets data business. This is a senior leadership role at the intersection of financial data, product strategy and AI-enabled innovation. You will be responsible for defining and executing the strategic roadmap for private markets data products, shaping the next generation of data solutions across private equity, private credit, infrastructure, real estate, and related alternative asset classes.

The team is responsible for identifying, designing, and delivering data solutions that leverage Bloomberg's proprietary analytics, data infrastructure, and private markets data. This requires deep understanding of private markets data sourcing, client workflows, data delivery mechanisms, APIs, feeds, cloud-based distribution, and target client segments across GPs, LPs, asset owners, allocators, consultants, fund administrators, and other service providers.

You will lead a high-performing team of product managers, fostering a culture of innovation, commercial focus and continuous learning. In this role, you will champion practical AI-driven transformation, including automation, agentic AI approaches, and intelligent data workflows that help clients address the complexity, fragmentation, and opacity of private markets data.

We'll Trust You To

  • Lead innovation by inspiring, mentoring, and developing a team that applies data excellence, domain expertise and enterprise customer focus to re-imagine private markets data products.
  • Drive growth in the Private Markets Data business by defining a forward-looking product strategy, prioritising high-impact initiatives, and executing with agility.
  • Develop and expand datasets across private equity, private credit, infrastructure, real estate, and related private markets segments.
  • Understand the full private markets data lifecycle, including sourcing, acquisition, extraction, normalisation, enrichment, quality control, delivery, and client integration.
  • Partner with clients to understand their investment, due diligence, portfolio monitoring, valuation, risk, reporting, benchmarking, sustainability, and AI-driven workflow needs.
  • Apply data-driven intelligence to measure product performance, identify coverage and quality gaps, uncover client insights, and guide roadmap decisions.
  • Collaborate across Product, Engineering, Data, Sales, and Client Solutions to deliver commercial and technical innovation aligned with market needs.
  • Build deep relationships with strategic clients, driving co-innovation and partnership.
  • Represent Bloomberg's private markets data strategy, influencing stakeholders and supporting commercial growth.

You'll Need to Have

  • 10+ years of experience in product management within financial data, analytics, investment technology, or enterprise data platforms, including 5+ years in a leadership capacity.
  • Proven experience in product management or equivalent, particularly in private markets data, alternative assets, institutional investment workflows, or financial data products.
  • Deep understanding of private markets asset classes, including private equity, private credit, infrastructure, and real estate, with expertise in at least two of these areas.
  • Strong knowledge of private markets client cohorts, including GPs, LPs, asset owners, allocators, consultants, fund administrators, and service providers.
  • Understanding of private markets workflows, including due diligence, manager selection, portfolio monitoring, valuations, performance analysis, benchmarking, exposure analysis, capital flows, and reporting.
  • Strong grasp of data science, AI, automation, and emerging agentic technologies, with the ability to translate these concepts into practical financial data products and client workflows.
  • Experience defining and executing product strategies that deliver measurable commercial, client, or operational outcomes.
  • Understanding of enterprise data delivery models, including APIs, data feeds, cloud delivery, data platforms, metadata, identifiers, entitlements, and data quality frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex data, technology, and private markets concepts clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel globally as needed to engage with teams, clients, and industry partners.

We'd Love to See

  • Passion for AI innovation and the evolving landscape of intelligent, agentic data systems.
  • Understanding of cross-asset financial instruments and entities data models and how private markets data connects with public markets, portfolio analytics, risk, regulation, and sustainability workflows.
  • Exposure to client workflows across investment management, portfolio construction, risk, valuation, regulation, reporting, or sustainability.
  • Experience with Python, R, SQL, or other data science and analytics tools.
  • Experience with cloud-based data delivery, data marketplaces, or modern enterprise data platforms.
