What You'll Do
The Principal, Technology Strategy serves as the portfolio integration leader for an assigned EASE infrastructure portfolio. The role translates EASE strategy into portfolio direction and connects outcomes, investments, roadmaps, major milestones, critical dependencies, operational performance, and financials. The role maintains the strategic perspective needed to guide priorities and decisions while understanding enough of the underlying work to recognize where portfolio-level coordination, escalation, or intervention is required.
Like a strong product leader, this role influences portfolio direction, clarifies outcomes, helps prioritize investment, and uses evidence to adjust the portfolio over time. The role balances progress against milestones and target dates with evidence that the work is producing intended outcomes. Working in partnership with AVPs and program leaders who own domain direction, resources, detailed execution, remediation, and delivery commitments, the role provides end-to-end stewardship of the portfolio. The role maintains alignment to EASE strategy and intended outcomes, integrates roadmaps and major milestones, and coordinates the dependencies and trade-offs most critical to overall portfolio performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate EASE infrastructure strategy into clear portfolio outcomes, priorities, measures, and investment choices. Maintain a portfolio-level perspective and adjust direction as conditions change.
- Connect work across programs and organizational boundaries. Understand enough delivery, operational, and financial detail to identify matters requiring portfolio action without assuming program-level management.
- Maintain an integrated view of major roadmaps, milestones, target dates, and expected outcomes. Balance visibility into delivery commitments with evidence that the portfolio is producing intended value.
- Identify and help manage the dependencies and risks most critical to portfolio outcomes, sequencing, or investment decisions. Clarify ownership, coordinate action, and escalate issues without managing every program-level dependency.
- Understand actuals, forecasts, funding needs, capacity pressures, expected benefits, and financial risks. Frame options and trade-offs so the portfolio remains aligned with financial commitments and expected outcomes.
- Integrate delivery, operational, outcome, and financial measures into a concise portfolio view. Surface decisions and interventions and drive clear ownership and follow-through.
- Build alignment across AVPs, program leaders, Finance, Architecture, Security, Data, Operations, and other partners. Influence without direct authority while preserving accountable leaders’ ownership of resources, detailed execution, remediation, and delivery outcomes.
- Improve portfolio planning, measures, data quality, and operating practices. Mentor others and foster transparency, accountability, and outcome orientation.
What You'll Need
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of related experience. Certification is required in some areas.
- Experience translating infrastructure or technology strategy into portfolio priorities, investments, and measurable outcomes.
- Experience leading a complex portfolio, product, platform, transformation, or cross-functional body of work in a large matrixed organization.
- Ability to maintain strategic oversight while using the appropriate level of delivery, operational, dependency, and financial detail to inform decisions.
- Strong product-management orientation, including outcome definition, prioritization, roadmap management, value assessment, and evidence-based adjustment.
- Working knowledge of budgets, forecasts, actuals, capacity, investment trade-offs, benefits, and financial risk.
- Ability to distinguish portfolio-level issues from matters best managed within programs and focus attention on the dependencies and risks most consequential to outcomes.
- Strong executive communication, facilitation, analytical judgment, negotiation, and influence without direct authority.
- Broad understanding of infrastructure technologies and operating environments, including cloud, compute, storage, network, platforms, workplace technology, reliability, security, or related domains.
What You'll Bring
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Product management, portfolio management, strategy, finance, Agile, SAFe, or program-management certification.
- Experience overseeing a significant multi-year infrastructure portfolio spanning multiple accountable delivery organizations and cross-domain dependencies.
- Experience with strategic portfolio management, product operating models, OKRs, outcome-based planning, value realization, or technology economics.
- Experience using Jira Align, Jira Cloud, ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management, Power BI, financial-planning platforms, or comparable tools.
- Experience applying generative AI, AI agents, or workflow automation to improve portfolio management, decision support, data synthesis, reporting, or other complex business processes.
- A leadership style combining strategic perspective, operational discipline, financial acumen, sound judgment, and collaborative influence.
