Full Job Description
First Databank (FDB) is currently seeking a Principal Strategic Partner Manager in the Customer Success department. FDB is extending its consumer medication data into digital health products and AI-enabled technology platforms. We are hiring a senior partnership lead to own one of FDB's largest strategic partnerships.
You will be the partner's dedicated relationship owner and accountable for renewal of the agreement. You will help the partner get the most from FDB solutions, show measurable value, and deepen engagement across a complex organization. This role will lead through influence, bringing FDB's product, clinical, technical, and commercial teams together around shared goals with the partner.
This position is based out of our San Francisco, CA office and follows a hybrid work model, with an expectation to work onsite at least three days per week.
Responsibilities:
• Own the renewal: Hold accountability for renewing the partnership agreement. Build the renewal strategy, track readiness, surface risk early, and lead the renewal with support from FDB executive, legal, and finance teams.
• Expand and deepen relationships: Build regular dialogue across the partner's product, engineering, AI and data, clinical, and business teams. Map stakeholders, secure executive sponsors, and keep decision-makers engaged.
• Own the partner success plan: Translate the partner's goals into measurable outcomes, milestones, owners, and a review cadence. Keep the plan and the account record (stakeholders, decisions, risks, commitments) current as use cases evolve.
• Lead value realization: Establish success measures, review adoption and performance signals, find optimization opportunities, and communicate the impact of FDB content in the partner's consumer products.
• Coordinate FDB's end-to-end experience: Oversee technical onboarding, content and documentation needs, issue resolution, education, and ongoing product engagement, bringing the right FDB experts into each discussion.
• Be the partner's voice inside FDB: Turn partner feedback into clear priorities, decisions, and actions for Product, Development, Content, Implementation, Support, and executive leadership, then close the loop with the partner.
• Lead executive business reviews and strategic working sessions: Connect product capabilities to partner outcomes for technical and nontechnical audiences, remove barriers to progress, and make sure every commitment has an accountable owner.
• Surface expansion opportunities: Identify where the partner's evolving needs create new opportunities and hand them to FDB's sales team, which owns expansion.
Required Skills:
• 10 or more years in strategic customer success, enterprise account management, strategic partnerships, or consultative client leadership, including ownership of complex, high-value relationships.
• Direct accountability for renewing large enterprise agreements, working with legal, finance, and executive teams.
• Experience partnering with large technology platforms or AI-enabled products, including data integration, content licensing, or API-based solutions.
• A record of building credibility with senior stakeholders in complex, matrixed organizations with competing priorities.
Required Experience:
• Healthcare technology, clinical data, medication information, digital health, or a related regulated environment.
• Consumer-facing health or technology products.
• Familiarity with product development and technical implementation lifecycles and working closely with engineering and data teams.
• Supporting global enterprise customers.
This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending savings account; paid holidays; paid time off; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.
