SUMMARY:The Marketing Principal Specialist is a highly organized, detail-oriented project manager responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of marketing projects and initiatives from intake through completion. This individual contributor works collaboratively with Marketing team members and leaders across the organization to ensure projects are effectively prioritized, coordinated, and delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with organizational objectives.
The Principal Specialist serves as a key liaison between Marketing and other departments, translating business needs into actionable marketing projects and coordinating the resources, timelines, approvals, and deliverables necessary for successful execution. The ideal candidate is adaptable and able to pivot quickly in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
This role utilizes project management principles, preferably including Agile methodologies and sprint planning, to improve workflow, visibility, prioritization, and efficiency. The Principal Specialist is also a steward of the Addition Financial brand, ensuring projects and deliverables are consistent with established brand standards, messaging, regulatory requirements, and the member experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:• Work closely with the Marketing Manager to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and execute Marketing projects and initiatives in alignment with department and organizational priorities.
• Serve as a project manager for assigned Marketing projects, campaigns, promotions, communications, and initiatives from project intake through completion.
• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, task assignments, milestones, and deliverables to ensure projects remain on track.
• Coordinate with Compliance and other appropriate stakeholders to facilitate the review and approval of project and campaign assets, ensuring Marketing materials meet applicable regulatory, state, local, and organizational requirements before production or distribution.
• Participate in cross-functional and enterprise project teams as the Marketing project owner, taking responsibility for coordinating and completing all Marketing-related work, deliverables, timelines, and dependencies while collaborating with team members and leaders across departments to ensure Marketing objectives align with overall project goals.
• Utilize Agile project management principles, including sprint planning and prioritization, to organize work, manage competing priorities, and improve the efficiency and visibility of Marketing projects.
• Coordinate the development, review, approval, production, and delivery of marketing materials and communications across appropriate channels.
• Proactively identify project risks, challenges, dependencies, and resource needs and communicate issues to the Marketing Manager with recommended solutions.
• Demonstrate the ability to pivot quickly and effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining project priorities, deadlines, and quality standards.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of organization, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Track project expenses and work closely with the Marketing Manager to help ensure expenses are accurately allocated to the appropriate budget, project, or cost center. Identify and communicate potential budget concerns, variances, or discrepancies to the Marketing Manager.
• Protect and promote the Addition Financial brand by ensuring marketing materials, communications, campaigns, and other deliverables align with established brand standards, voice, style, and messaging.
• Continuously review marketing materials for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and alignment with brand and organizational standards.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, timelines, budgets, and other records to support effective project coordination and visibility.
• Maintain working knowledge of Marketing systems, project management software, CRM and marketing automation platforms, and other technologies used to support project execution.
• Adhere to all credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development, including mandatory annual training, and demonstrate attained knowledge.
• Perform other department projects and duties as assigned by Marketing leadership.
REQUIREMENTSEducation- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
System Knowledge/Program Knowledge- Proficiency in MS Office. Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, CRM and marketing automation solutions and web-based project management software are a plus
Experience• General working knowledge of credit union procedures and protocols, plus ability to perform complex tasks and coordinate activities within scope of position and as directed by leadership for a variety of disciplines.
• Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Experience and knowledge in project management, organizational effectiveness, operations management, finance, and accounting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ten or more years related experience and/or training in a financial institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to operate a PC unit to access the credit union's information system and member account information, if required.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
