Overview:

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our rapidly growing Technology Team. Cvent'sProduct Development Team is responsible for the design, development and operation of the company's suite of cloud-based software products. We are also currently engaged in a major initiative to build our next generation software platform, utilizing the most cutting edge tools and technologies such as ReactJS, Java and Couchbase.

In This Role, You Will:
• Drive the technical direction and architecture of microservices to support scalability, performance, and future platform needs.
• Design and implement new features using Java and JavaScript, including React, and integrate them into a cloud-based SaaS environment built on RESTful microservices architecture.
• Develop and maintain services deployed on Amazon Web Services (AWS), utilizing services such as CloudFormation, ECS, RDS, S3, EC2, and Lambda.
• Ensure product quality by establishing and enforcing automation strategies, including unit, integration, and API testing practices.
• Lead a team of software engineers responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of shared services and a centralized reporting framework within a cloud-based event management platform.
• Investigate, identify, and resolve software defects across the full application stack. Identify and remediate technical debt to improve system reliability and maintainability.
• Establish monitoring and logging frameworks to support troubleshooting and proactive issue detection.
• Participate in the discovery and resolution of production incidents.
• Manage build and deployment pipelines using DevOps tools such as Maven and Jenkins.
• Design and optimize data storage solutions using relational and non-relational database systems, including MySQL and Couchbase.
• Collaborate with cross-functional product and engineering teams to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems.
• Mentor and coach team members to support their professional development.

Here's What You Need:

Requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field + 60 months of experience in software engineering, software development, or application support engineering in a SaaS or cloud-based software environment. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field + 84 months of such experience.

Skills:
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) including CloudFormation, ECS, RDS, S3, EC2, and Lambda, Maven, Jenkins, MySQL, Couchbase
• Advanced JavaScript proficiency (Java, JavaScript, React, RESTful API design, microservices architecture)
• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD tools (Maven, Jenkins)
• Agile software development methodologies, unit/integration/API test automation, and full-stack software development in a SaaS environment.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional, collaborative environments and communication skills.
