Principal SoC ArchitectAptiv's custom silicon management group provides critical custom Silicon for all Aptiv products including Autonomous Driving, ADAS, Infotainment, Zonal Control, and others. This team translates the system requirements of Aptiv's next-generation products into the SOC/IC requirements and architectural design, then manages the technical performance of external SOC/IC design partners who design the custom silicon SOCs/ICs for use in Aptiv's products.
We are looking for SoC architects to work closely with multiple engineering teams who are focused on the development of Aptiv's future generation of products.
In This Role, You'll- Lead a team of 3-5 highly experienced semiconductor engineers
- Work with the platform Architects to create SoC architecture specification.
- Work with OS/SW/AI Algorithms team to define SoC & IP features.
- Work with OS/SW teams to define memory, IO features.
- Work with internal as well as 3rd party IP providers to drive the SoC architecture.
- Comprehend SoC use cases and compare all the IPs for PPA, features and drive IP selection.
- Work with SoC micro architects for IP integration definitions, HW/SW interfaces, programming models
- Determine power, performance and area tradeoffs as well as how data and control flows interact.
- Determine electrical and thermal considerations at the chip, package and system levels.
- Coordinate and track key deliverables and issues with Aptiv's internal and 3rd party IP partners.
- Perform design, verification reviews via coverage matrix to make sure all the use cases are fully verified.
- Create acceptance criteria for synthesis, STA, verification, validation and test coverage aspects.
- Work with our design partners and support them through the execution of the SoC to ensure first-pass silicon success.
At a Minimum We'd Like You To Have- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
- 12+ years of experience in ARM CPU based SoC architecture and silicon development.
- Strong experience with ARM based Memory, IO virtualization.
- Strong experience with Ethernet and PCIe protocols.
- Strong experience with memory sub-systems and NoC.
- Must be a resident of the Greater Walnut Creek California area, with ability to work on site.
The Successful Candidate will Have as Many of the Following Experiences and Capabilities as Possible- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or equivalent.
- 15+ years of experience with ARM CPU based ASIC/SOC architecture and design.
- Experience and knowledge of 3rd party IP eco system.
- Experience with RTL coding for a complex silicon project from concept to launch.
- Experience in supporting SoC debug and emulator/FPGA based validation.
- Experience in Tcl, Perl, Python scripting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- It's a plus if you have automotive design experience.

For residents in CA Salary Ranges are:
$168K - $300K
