Description
Principal Scientist, In Vivo Pharmacology, NeurologyRemote U.S. or Palo Alto, CAKey Responsibilities - Design and execute on in vivo pharmacology studies across multiple Neurology programs in our research portfolio in rodents and non-human primates, with goals of IND submission.
- Partner with toxicology and translational teams to ensure our in vivo pharmacology data package is rigorous, reproducible, and translatable - directly informing dose selection and go/no-go decisions.
- Develop and implement pharmacodynamic and efficacy assessments, troubleshoot assays, and QC data from CROs and external partners.
- Manage CRO relationships and monitor study progress for ongoing studies, identifying emerging risks, while presenting progress updates in team meetings.
- Analyze data from in vivo pharmacology endpoints including PK/bioanalysis and pharmacodynamic and/or efficacy endpoints.
Requirements
Preferred Education & Experience - Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of biopharmaceutical industry experience within in vivo pharmacology.
- Experience with small molecules and antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) is preferred.
- Experience in rare disease or developmental and epileptic encephalopathy (DEE) models is strongly preferred.
- Strong intellectual curiosity as demonstrated by routine engagement with scientific community and familiarity with literature.
- Direct experience and willingness to continue to design pharmacology studies with direct involvement and leading coordination of external efforts.
- Exposure to IND-enabling studies and experience writing regulatory or technical reports.
- Ability to operate independently and cross-functionally in a lean, fast-moving biotech environment.
The base pay range for this position is $173,000 to $205,000 per year. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on a number of job-related factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, and location. A bonus plan and equity will also be offered.
