Northrop Grumman, Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for a Principal Project Manager to support Marine Systems-Cape Canaveral. Marine Systems is renowned for its expertise in providing deployed systems support for the U.S./UK Navy TRIDENT II (D5) Fleet Ballistic Missile Programs. The Principal Project Manager will join our distinguished team onsite at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

This position is 100% on-site.

The selected candidate will play a pivotal role within our Project Management Team, driving operational excellence through proactive engagement. We are looking for a collaborative professional who will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects, acting as a liaison between project management, planning, engineering, global supply chain, and business management. The role involves reviewing project statuses, budgets, schedules, and risks, ensuring all contractual requirements are fulfilled.

What You'll Get To Do:
  • Review and manage project statuses, budgets, and schedules, and prepare comprehensive status reports.
  • Assess project issues and develop resolutions to achieve productivity, quality, and client satisfaction goals.
  • Monitoring project progress and facilitating intervention and problem-solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
  • Perform roles related to Control Account Manager (CAM) and Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Coordinate project activities with functional organizations, vendors, or suppliers to meet project requirements.
  • Serve as a primary contact for project activities, contributing to project status review sessions with internal management and customers to discuss cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Establish project milestones, monitor adherence to processes and schedules, identify project risks, and manage risk mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in the development of contract proposals and modifications.
  • Support internal and customer meetings, including preparation of presentation materials, content generation, meeting attendance for on-site integration, action item tracking, and post-meeting follow-up.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years' of relevant professional/military experience; or a master's degree with 3 years of relevant professional/military experience supporting U.S. Government contracts, including project management, program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, contracts, and/or business management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or supporting projects/programs, including responsibility for cost, schedule, budget, milestones, and/or project deliverable.
  • Demonstrated experience with cross-functional teams that includes two or more functional disciplines such as Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Program Management, Quality, Contracts, or Field Operations.
  • Experience performing Control Account Manager (CAM) and/or Earned Value Management Responsibilities, including managing cost and schedule performance.
  • Certified Control Account Manager (CAM).
  • Demonstrated experience identifying, tracking, and mitigating project/program risks, issues, and opportunities (RIO).
  • Experience coordinating with customers, suppliers, vendors, and/or internal stakeholders to support project execution.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret clearance or higher (granted or renewed within the last 6 years) to be considered.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience developing and/or managing and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Previous experience supporting TRIDENT II Launcher Subsystem and/or Support Equipment.

Primary Level Salary Range: $84,100.00 - $122,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
