JOB DESCRIPTION:

Shield AI is redefining autonomous aviation with cutting-edge AI and GPS/RF-denied navigation technologies. Now, we're building a next-generation aircraft like no other-one that will push the boundaries of innovation and performance.

We're looking for a Principal of Mission Systems to take ownership of all aspects of mission system development and lead our engineering team from concept to production. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Define and execute the vision of our next generation mission systems from concept through production

Build, lead, and mentor a world-class mission systems engineering team

Integrate off-the-shelf hardware and drive the roadmap for future vertical integration

Establish and enforce appropriate design processes

Maintain technical excellence-implement rigorous design processes and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Ensure system performance meets requirements and design expectations

Collaborate cross-functionally with Shield's core teams, such as engineering, production, supply chain, business development, and program management

Engage with external partners - coordinate with vendors and engineering teams as needed

Work in a fast-paced environment

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

10+ years of experience as an Mission Systems Engineer or a related field

5+ years of leadership experience

Strong technical fundamentals

Experience with custom electronics design and system level integration

Have worked on large platforms, such as aircraft, rockets, satellites, automotive, etc.

Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

$215,000 - $320,000 a year
