Full Job Description
As a Hardware Design Engineer, you will contribute and drive the design, development, qualification, and life cycle sustaining of PCBA and System level hardware used in high performance Ethernet and Network communication test equipment products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of board level and system level hardware projects for telecommunications related test platforms.
  • Collaborate with managers and architects in setting overall technical direction.
  • Lead the development of functional, design and test specifications documents.
  • Perform high-level design, implementation, hardware bring-up, integration, and validation of PCBA and system level hardware.
  • Provide technology leadership and expertise to project management, development managers, cross functional teams, and related design teams.
  • Collaborate with CAD, NPI, and Mfg teams to deliver development hardware to production. Provide engineering support over the product lifecycle.
  • Assist in developing and defining internal development practices and standards.
  • Identify and track design issues and bugs. Perform troubleshooting best practices, root cause analysis, and deploy corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • BSEE+15 yrs or MSEE+10 yrs experience. with board level design and development of digital systems.
  • Self-driven Individual who can own and carry out a hardware development program, with a team player mentality.
  • Experience with Cadence Allegro PCB design suite including Orcad Schematic Capture tools.
  • Experience implementing designs using; High density FPGAs, Embedded processors, DDR4/5 DRAM, Physical Media Devices. Knowledge of power distribution and thermal management systems. Experience with mechanical design and best practices is desirable.
  • Strong Knowledge of digital systems, PCBA level design for signal integrity. General Analog design experience is desirable.
  • Strong Knowledge with electronic tests equipment tools and best practices; Digital O-Scope, TDRs, Network analyzer, Logic analyzer, Spectrum analyzer, etc.
  • Desired experience with VHDL, C programming, Python, and TCL. Including general knowledge of programming best practices.
  • General knowledge of telecommunications standards/network communications protocols, PHY layer, Ethernet, and TCP/IP, among others.


The level of role and salary will be based on applicable experience, education and skills; Most offers will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the Salary Range listed below.

California Pay Range: MIN $114,620 - MAX $191,030

Note: For other locations, pay ranges will vary by region.
