Job Title: Principal, EITP M&A Delivery Service Leader – Cloud

Current Need:

McKesson is looking for a Principal Cloud Solution Architect to join a key technical leadership role within the Enterprise Cloud Services Onboarding team, to help accelerate our cloud initiatives across the Enterprise and drive trust, agility, and cloud adoption. This role will serve as a critical leadership position in shaping and executing McKesson’s enterprise-wide cloud strategy and primarily focused on Merger & Acquisition (M&A) integration. The Principal Architect will operate at an executive level, partnering with internal and external business and technology teams to define cloud integration roadmaps, establish architectural standards, and ensure seamless alignment with enterprise platforms.

The role requires a combination of technical expertise in solution architecture, strong communication skills, collaborative mindset and leadership skills to engage with business units and technical stakeholders across the enterprise to drive broader impact. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing and delivering cloud-native solutions, enabling business outcomes while ensuring adherence to security and compliance requirements.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the enterprise cloud architecture authority for merger, acquisition, and divestiture activities, defining scalable integration strategies across acquired entities.
  • Lead technical due diligence for M&A initiatives, assessing cloud maturity, architecture posture, risks, and integration complexity.
  • Define and execute M&A cloud integration playbooks, including landing zone alignment, identity integration, security harmonization, and application modernization strategies.
  • Drive consistency across multi-business-unit architectures, resolving complex cross-domain design challenges and influencing enterprise-wide policy decisions.
  • Provide thought leadership on cloud, M&A integration, and enterprise architecture trends; represent McKesson in strategic vendor and partner engagements.
  • Define and govern enterprise cloud solution patterns and reference architecture across Azure and hybrid environments, ensuring consistency, reusability, and alignment with long-term platform and security strategy.
  • Shape and evolve enterprise cloud architecture standards, security guardrails, and governance models; influence policy decisions and resolve complex design exceptions across business units.
  • Conduct technical assessments and optimization reviews for existing and new cloud deployments.
  • Work closely with enterprise architecture, cloud platform operations, and governance teams to ensure seamless integration of solutions into the organization’s cloud environment.
  • Mentor senior architects and engineers, raise the overall architecture maturity of the organization, and lead enablement efforts that institutionalize cloud best practices.

What We’re Looking For:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 15+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in solution architecture and cloud-based technologies.

Critical Skills/Experience:

  • 12+ years of Cloud Architecture and/or relevant industry experience.
  • Expertise in Azure is required; experience with AWS or GCP is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.

Technical Expertise:

  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure (required); multi-cloud experience (AWS, GCP) strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-native technologies, microservices architecture, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform or ARM templates.
  • Strong cloud architecture design and implementation experience with Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments
  • Proven experience in designing and deploying secure, scalable, and resilient solutions in large-scale cloud environments that are heavily regulated.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise security, compliance, and governance frameworks.
  • Experience with migration projects and hybrid cloud environments is a plus.
  • Cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
