Overview

The Agriculture & Sustainability Architect role is responsible for defining the global north star architecture for the Agriculture and Sustainability domains, governing the introduction of new technology solutions, ensuring the organization aligns with enterprise standards and uses common solutions, defining the target architecture for global Sustainability and Agriculture programs and providing architecture guidance to sector architects on local sustainability and Agriculture initiatives, with an ultimate goal of optimizing the global portfolio of technology solutions in the Agriculture and Sustainability functions and ensuring the long term viability of solutions.

This role will report to the Enterprise Domain Architect for Global Functions and will work with our Global & Sector Agriculture & Sustainability Transformation (S&T) teams, Global Agriculture Office, Global Sustainability Office and our business stakeholders to bring new solutions to life. They will work in close partnership with S&T product owners, Enterprise Architecture peers, Solutions Architects, capabilities / delivery team leads to govern and design solutions as part of new and ongoing transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain North Star and Capability Reference architectures for Agriculture and Sustainability domains
  • Define technology strategy for domains and lead technology evaluations to identify new solutions/platforms that meet global/sector needs
  • Increase awareness of global reference architectures and technology standards and educate internal stakeholders on Enterprise Architecture standards and governance processes
  • Help close capability gaps with standards to minimize local solutions and fully leverage global solutions. Ensure re-use and 'lift & shift' of capabilities across deployments and future implementations
  • Ensure delivery of consistent solution architecture (conceptual, logical, and physical architecture) for key transformation initiatives to ensure solution is fit for purpose, flexible, scalable, and sustainable. Help guide / support sector architects in defining solution architecture for sector specific agriculture & sustainability projects
  • Work with S&T Transformation teams and business teams to define multi-year Agriculture and Sustainability roadmaps
  • Support Scouting, Demand Management, and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) processes for new initiatives, providing architectural guidance and governance (e.g., Responsible AI governance, Information Security governance, and EA governance)

Compensation and Benefits:
  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $110,700 - $185,250.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Agriculture or Sustainability solutions system design, development and implementation
  • Knowledge and practical experience with E2E agriculture processes including Agricultural Science, Agricultural Planning, Sourcing, Production, Precision Agriculture
  • Knowledge and practical experience with sustainability and ESG processes, including CSRD reporting, carbon accounting, and sustainability data flows, with ability to translate these into scalable technology and data architectures
  • Experience with key vendor software packages such as SAP, Vistex, CropTrak, Trackwise, LabVantage, and Sphera
  • Understanding of integration technologies and patterns and data architecture and patterns
  • Foundational knowledge of AI technologies and responsible AI practices
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, or similar field. Masters preferred.
  • 7+ years experience designing and/or implementing technology solutions
  • Proven ability to translate business strategies and needs to technology strategies
  • Strong thought leadership and executive storytelling skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences and with peers as well as senior executives
  • Experience working with and leading cross-functional teams and geographically distributed teams
  • Proven track record of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes in timelines and sequences
