The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a skilled Delivery Consultant to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role, you'll work closely with customers to design, implement, and manage AWS solutions that meet their technical requirements and business objectives. You'll be a key player in driving customer success through their cloud journey, providing technical expertise and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Possessing a deep understanding of AWS products and services, as a Delivery Consultant you will be proficient in leading large-scale portfolio assessment and application disposition for enterprise data centre exit programmes spanning multiple countries and regulatory jurisdictions. You'll work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess current infrastructure through discovery tooling and application owner interviews, and propose effective migration strategies to AWS - assigning R-strategies (Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Retire, Retain, Relocate) and designing wave plans that respect dependency groupings, capacity constraints, and regulatory frozen zones. As trusted advisors to our customers, providing guidance on migration best practices, risk mitigation, and innovative solutions, you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end migration assessment process, ensuring adherence to AWS well-architected principles, optimizing wave sequencing, and managing risks throughout the programme lifecycle.
Key job responsibilities
As the senior technical authority on the team, you will be responsible for:
- Owning the overall migration architecture and strategy for the portfolio and designing complex, scalable, and secure AWS solutions tailored to the customer's estate and setting the technical standards other leads build to
- Providing technical direction, deep-dive troubleshooting, and escalation support across all workstreams throughout delivery, unblocking the hardest technical problems
- Partnering with customer and AWS stakeholders to shape requirements and define migration strategy wave sequencing, R-strategy patterns, and target-state architecture across the 1,000+ server estate
- Acting as the customer's trusted senior advisor on migration approach, industry trends, and emerging AWS technologies, influencing executive and architecture decisions
- Raising the technical bar across the organization through mentoring the tech leads and engineers, running enablement, and creating reusable artifacts, patterns, and accelerators
- Governing cross-cutting concerns (security, networking, replatform, data) end to end so dependencies are resolved consistently across waves and teams
Experience
- Deep, hands-on large-scale migration and modernization leadership across heterogeneous estates
- Portfolio- or program-level technical ownership
- Strong AWS solution architecture (migration, networking, security)
- Proven ability to lead and mentor senior technical staff
- Telco customer experience - nice to have
