Position DescriptionThe
Principal Application Administrator plays a pivotal role in configuring, maintaining, and optimizing the Court's enterprise-level software applications. This position ensures that complex business processes are accurately supported through thoughtful configuration, disciplined access management, and responsive issue resolution. Beyond technical execution, the role provides day-to-day guidance to junior staff, supports project leadership, and collaborates closely with internal teams and external partners to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical systems. From developing test plans and validating new releases to monitoring application health and coordinating vendor support, this administrator helps keep the Court's applications stable, secure, and aligned with evolving operational needs. The position also contributes to continuous improvement efforts, evaluates workflow impacts, and strengthens the Court's ability to deliver reliable, user-centered technology services. Key responsibilities: - Application Configuration & Process Alignment - Oversee and perform the configuration of enterprise applications to support complex business processes. Implement configuration updates driven by customer feedback, operational changes, or evolving business practices.
- User Access Administration - Administer and review user accounts to ensure roles and permissions align with job responsibilities, maintaining secure and appropriate access across all applications.
- Application Issue Resolution - Identify, analyze, and resolve application issues reported by users. Create, update, and manage support cases to help vendors or internal teams replicate problems and deliver effective solutions.
- Testing & Release Validation - Develop test cases, scenarios, and plans for new releases. Oversee functional testing, document results, report defects, and create training materials to support successful deployment.
- Application Health Monitoring - Monitor application performance and processing health, identify system errors, and take corrective action to maintain reliable and efficient operation.
- Task Leadership & Staff Support - Assign daily tasks, provide work instructions, and review outputs for junior staff. Serve as a project substitute for the supervisor when needed and assist in evaluating prospective employees.
- Partner & Vendor Coordination - Coordinate work with internal teams and external partners to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of applications and organizational data.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTSTo qualify, you must meet one of the following options at the time of application:
- OPTION I: 9+ years' experience in applications administration, including specific experience with the suite or portfolio of solutions within the span of control.
- OPTION II: Associate's degree* in information technology, computer science, management information systems, or related field; -AND- 7+ years' experience in applications administration, including specific experience with the suite or portfolio of solutions within the span of control.
- OPTION III: Bachelor's degree* in information technology, computer science, management information systems, or related field; -AND- 5+ years' experience in applications administration, including specific experience with the suite or portfolio of solutions within the span of control.
- OPTION IV: Master's degree* in information technology, computer science, management information systems, or related field; -AND- 3+ years' experience in applications administration, including specific experience with the suite or portfolio of solutions within the span of control.

Note: Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio (e.g., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience). Overtime does not count toward additional credit.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS- industry-recognized certifications that demonstrate structured service management, project coordination, business analysis, application configuration expertise, or advanced customer support practices.
- Experience identifying inefficiencies in business processes and proposing configuration or workflow improvements that reduce manual effort, improve data quality, or enhance user experience.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-team release activities, including communicating impacts, preparing users for changes, and ensuring smooth transitions during upgrades or major deployments.
- Skill in designing or refining complex reports, queries, or data extracts that support decision-making, compliance, or operational transparency.
- Proven ability to create clear, comprehensive documentation for configurations, troubleshooting procedures, test plans, or training materials that improve team consistency and knowledge transfer.
- Experience communicating effectively during high-impact incidents, including summarizing technical findings for non-technical audiences, coordinating with stakeholders, and maintaining calm, structured problem-solving under pressure.
