What you'll do- Lead and manage the preconstruction phase from pursuit through contract award, ensuring a seamless handoff to operations
- Develop detailed project budgets, cost estimates, and value engineering alternatives in collaboration with owners, architects, and design consultants
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for owners, architects, and design partners throughout preconstruction
- Coordinate bid packages, solicit subcontractor proposals, and conduct scope leveling to support accurate and competitive pricing
- Partner with project operations teams to validate constructability, schedule feasibility, and overall project delivery strategy
- Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope gaps, risks, and opportunities
- Contribute to business development efforts through RFQ/RFP responses, presentations, and interview preparation
- Maintain and refine historical cost data and estimating tools on an ongoing basis
What you bring- Experience in preconstruction, estimating, or project management within commercial construction - we welcome candidates across a range of experience levels
- Candidates with an architectural background bring a genuine advantage here - your ability to read design intent and anticipate constructability issues before they become problems is exactly what our owner and architect partners respond to
- Strong command of construction costs, estimating methodologies, and project delivery models (GC/CM, GMP, Design-Build)
- Ability to build and sustain trusted relationships with owners, architects, and subcontractors
- Proficiency with estimating software and standard construction technology tools
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple pursuits and competing deadlines
- A team-first mindset - you communicate openly, support your colleagues, and take ownership of your commitments
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
