Description

We're looking for a Preconstruction Manager - Design-Phase Leadership who thrives in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment and is committed to delivering a high level of service to every stakeholder. Whether you come from an architecture or construction background, if you've found yourself drawn to the business of building - the budgets, the timelines, the owner relationships - this role was built for people like you. We actively welcome licensed architects and architecture professionals exploring a move into construction leadership.

What you'll do
  • Lead and manage the preconstruction phase from pursuit through contract award, ensuring a seamless handoff to operations
  • Develop detailed project budgets, cost estimates, and value engineering alternatives in collaboration with owners, architects, and design consultants
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for owners, architects, and design partners throughout preconstruction
  • Coordinate bid packages, solicit subcontractor proposals, and conduct scope leveling to support accurate and competitive pricing
  • Partner with project operations teams to validate constructability, schedule feasibility, and overall project delivery strategy
  • Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope gaps, risks, and opportunities
  • Contribute to business development efforts through RFQ/RFP responses, presentations, and interview preparation
  • Maintain and refine historical cost data and estimating tools on an ongoing basis

What you bring
  • Experience in preconstruction, estimating, or project management within commercial construction - we welcome candidates across a range of experience levels
  • Candidates with an architectural background bring a genuine advantage here - your ability to read design intent and anticipate constructability issues before they become problems is exactly what our owner and architect partners respond to
  • Strong command of construction costs, estimating methodologies, and project delivery models (GC/CM, GMP, Design-Build)
  • Ability to build and sustain trusted relationships with owners, architects, and subcontractors
  • Proficiency with estimating software and standard construction technology tools
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple pursuits and competing deadlines
  • A team-first mindset - you communicate openly, support your colleagues, and take ownership of your commitments
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred

What we offer
  • A collaborative team culture where people genuinely support one another
  • Meaningful work on projects that shape the communities we live and work in
  • A stable, established company with a strong project pipeline and a track record of growth
  • Competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid vacation, and sick leave
