Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Project Manager to expand our Environmental practice in Salt Lake City, UT! 

Responsibilities
  • Utilize entrepreneurial spirit and create a vision for growth for our Environmental practice team while growing their own projects, clients and team around them.
  • We are seeking a leader with background in business development, managing relationships with clients, supporting and leading environmental planning projects, and leading and mentoring team members.
  • Develop a comprehensive project plan that outlines objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Project Managers are encouraged to pursue opportunities that fuel their professional passion and contribute to firmwide success. 

  • Leadership responsibilities include:

    • Lead ateamwhile building and managing relationships with key clients.

    • Operate with integrity and sound business principles.

    • Provide practice vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, building and maintaining positive client relationships.

    • Open communication with partners and team, along with growing and directing a Community Planning Services practice.

    • Manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, help recruit, and be a positive role model.

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration with clients, government agencies, landowners, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure that the project adheres to zoning regulations, environmental laws, and other legal requirements.
  • Identify potential risks and implementing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Ensure that the project is executed with a high level of quality and meets the client's expectations.

Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience managing environmental projects in the local area with a demonstrated ability to manage those projects profitably
  • Bachelors Degree or higher in city or regional planning or related
  • Strong experience with NEPA
  • Client contacts and relationships with local municipalities, county, regional and state agencies
  • Provide high quality deliverables with exceptional client service
  • A desire to lead and grow a planning practice
  • Business development and marketing experience including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected work.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Experience leading, mentoring and managing staff in a positive manner
