Role Overview:This role is for a dedicated Power BI Administrator responsible for the comprehensive administration and support of the Power BI platform. The administrator will ensure the platform's health, security, and optimal performance, managing all aspects from service and premium capacity to user access and data connectivity, while adhering to governance and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Administer and support the Power BI platform, including Service, Premium Capacity, workspaces, datasets, and reports.
- Manage and maintain Power BI Gateways for secure and reliable data connectivity.
- Monitor platform health, capacity, refresh schedules, and performance to ensure high availability.
- Manage user access, permissions, security groups, and implement RLS/security controls.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, refresh failures, gateway incidents, and performance bottlenecks.
- Provide L2/L3 operational support and collaborate with Microsoft and infrastructure teams on critical issues.
- Optimize datasets, data models, DAX queries, and report performance.
- Establish and enforce Power BI governance, standards, and best practices.
- Conduct access reviews, audits, capacity planning, and environment health checks.
