You'll join a collaborative, close-knit team that values sound judgment, dependable follow-through, and long-term relationships.
What You'll DoReporting to the Controller, you'll manage the accounting cycle for assigned real estate investment entities and help turn detailed financial activity into accurate portfolio-wide reporting.
- Maintain general ledgers, prepare journal entries, and complete balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
- Own monthly and annual close activities for assigned entities, delivering timely, reliable financial statements.
- Prepare and review consolidations and roll-up reporting across multiple entities, including intercompany activity, eliminations, and supporting schedules.
- Reconcile entity-level results to portfolio-level reports and investigate variances.
- Monitor cash balances, forecast funding needs, and prepare transfers between entities.
- Process payables, receivables, investor distributions, and intercompany transactions.
- Prepare quarterly and annual reporting for lenders and investors.
- Coordinate with external CPAs on annual tax preparation, supporting schedules, and year-end adjustments.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting in Yardi.
- Partner with the Controller, CFO, and investment team on analysis, process improvements, and special projects.
- Apply GAAP and maintain sound internal controls.
What You Bring- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least five years of progressive accounting experience; real estate or investment entity experience is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with multi-entity consolidations, intercompany accounting, and financial roll-ups.
- Strong GAAP knowledge and the ability to produce and explain accurate financial reports.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Yardi or a comparable accounting system.
- The organization to manage multiple deadlines and the curiosity to resolve discrepancies.
- A collaborative approach and clear communication with both accounting and investment colleagues.
