The Plant Engineer is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving equipment reliability, and supporting maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production operations. This role combines process engineering, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize plant performance and minimize downtime.
Duties and Responsibilities: Maintenance Engineering- Work with and support plant supervision to ensure production requirements are met.
- Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Ensure proper maintenance and reliability of manufacturing equipment, machinery, and supporting systems.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation-related issues.
- Coordinate equipment repairs, upgrades, and installations.
- Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance planning activities.
Reliability and Continuous Improvement- Drive equipment reliability initiatives to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
- Potentially utilize reliability tools such as FMEA, RCA, TPM, and CMMS systems.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) including OEE, MTBF, MTTR, and other appropriate metrics.
- Support capital projects and equipment modernization efforts.
- Recommend and implement cost-saving and productivity-enhancing solutions.
Safety and Compliance- Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards.
- Participate in job safety analyses and risk assessments.
- Support lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and machine safety initiatives.
- Assist with regulatory audits and safety inspections.
Cross-Functional Collaboration- Work closely with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
- Train and assist operators and maintenance technicians on equipment operation and maintenance best practices.
- Support new product introductions and process validations.
- Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and equipment manufacturers.
Qualifications and Skills:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 3-7 + years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, maintenance engineering, or a related role.
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments preferred.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with PLCs, automation systems, and industrial controls.
- Proficiency with CMMS software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.

Preferred Qualifications:- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
