Job Description

To enable us to meet challenging new and existing project demands, we are seeking for motivated and result driven drafters/designers for piping. The purpose of these positions is to provide essential administrative processes and technical knowledge to produce designs and 2D and 3D layout of moderate to complex advanced scope in close cooperation with the discipline engineers and leads. The specific duties associated with the positions will include but not necessarily be limited to:
  • Perform pipe wall thickness calculations per relevant codes (e.g., ASME B31.3).
  • Develop and maintain piping material specifications and line classes.
  • Prepare technical documentation for procurement packages.
  • Coordinate with engineering and procurement teams to ensure material compliance.
  • Support quality and standards adherence across deliverables.
  • Review drawings and vendor equipment documentation of basic to moderate complexity within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements and actively seek discrepancy resolution.
  • Perform bulk material take-off analysis and tabulations.
    Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures.
  • Analyze and make independent recommendations to solve problems with moderate complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines.
  • Liaise with third parties representatives to align design interface requirements and expectations.
  • Understand and follow the effort-hours budget and process schedule.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Basic Job Requirements
• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and four (4) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to eight (8) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
• Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials
• Practical field experience
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
• Professional registration preferred
• Practical field experience

Other Job Requirements

  • Recognized Diploma in Engineering Drafting with pertaining Design or global equivalent in technical field of study
  • Two (3) years of Piping design experience is preferred
  • Piping stress calculation
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects
  • Flexibility to work across different project phases.
  • Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials
  • Practical field experience
  • Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs


Preferred Qualifications

Salary is based upon experience. Salary Range: $80,500.00 - $150,500.00

The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate's qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
