OverviewPosition Summary
Pipe designer will work independently on mostly small maintenance type jobs with some occasional small capital project work. Needs somewhere between 10-12+ years of overall design experience. Experience following projects cradle to grave. CADWorx and Plant 3D is preferred but not required
Responsibilities
Obtaining information for jobs including but not limited to P&IDs, logic drawings, pictures of plant equipment, manufacturer specifications of equipment, specification sheets, manufacture wiring diagrams and site wiring diagrams.
Assist engineering in completing and detailing technical documents such as AutoCad drawings, specification sheets and other various engineering documents.
Prepares clear, complete and accurate working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches or notes. Coordinates, maintains and continuously improves revision control systems.
Develop required piping scope for the project implementation.
Assist engineering to keep engineering electronic documents in job files organized.
Generates final sketch of proposed drawing(s), checking dimensions, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.
Prepare piping packages for proper MOC package content.
Identify deficiencies for the piping portion of the documentation process from beginning of the MOC process until final documentation is turned over to be published.
Understand method of filling electronic documentation and become fluent in locating plant documentation.
Assist engineering prepare for turnaround and/or plant shutdown activities as needed.
Qualifications
Plant 3D and Cadworx - Preferred.
Education Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
