We are currently seeking a full time Physiotherapist Team Lead role to work at the Cortellucci Hospital in Vaughan. This role will be a full time clinical role addressing patient management through all stages of assessment, treatment, consultation and follow-up services to patients. In addition, the role will have the opportunity to provide team support to the occupational therapists including education opportunities, mentorship, project involvement and addressing practice related issues. As the team lead you will be reporting to the Professional Practice Leader, Rehab Services and will have the opportunity to develop and demonstrate leadership skills in a supported environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Physiotherapist
As a physiotherapist (PT) you will manage a full caseload on the unit that you are assigned
As a Physiotherapist (PT) you will be conducting assessments.
As a Physiotherapist (PT)you will be formulating goals and recommendations
As a Physiotherapist (PT) you will be planning and implementing patient centered, goal-directed treatment programs in collaboration with Therapy Assistants
As a Physiotherapist you will assist in the promotion of physiotherapy services to external referral sources
Physiotherapist team lead
Along with the PPL you will support monthly team meetings
Provide and facilitate mentorship for new physiotherapists through engagement of other team members
As a team lead you will help student coordinator promote student placements and preceptorships
May be asked to be involved and support various projects that require clinical expertise
May be asked to research or conduct environmental scans of specific best practices across settings and provide recommendations based on findings
Engaged to contact the professional college and provide information related to college standards and practice within the hospital setting related to specific practices
May be asked to provide coverage for the PPL in the case of planned/unplanned absences
REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of an accredited program in Physiotherapy and are a member in good standing of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
At least 3 to 5 years of acute care hospital experience is required
Previous experience working in a practice leadership role is an asset
Reliable, flexible, creative, self-directed professional, able to work effectively and collaboratively with therapy assistants as well as with a high performance interdisciplinary rehabilitation team
Highly motivated to develop leadership skills and provide positive and proactive leadership to the physiotherapy team
Recent experience in managing patients in acute/rehab or community based rehabilitation programs is required
Experience working in an inpatient setting is required
Sound knowledge of community resources is an asset
Effective interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
A positive work and attendance record is essential
Ability to adapt to new computer applications
