Hours: Monday - Sunday, 7P-7A; 7 on 7 off

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Physician Assistant will diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team. May focus on health promotion and disease prevention. May order, perform, or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays. May prescribe. Provides care of hospitalized patients and has full control of a patient throughout their entire shift. Current BLS and ACLS Required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of Pennsylvania required. National Certification in Pennsylvania or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in Pennsylvania required. AHA BLS & ACLS certifications required. DEA licensure required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Critical thinking
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to complete comprehensive physical exam, diagnose and formulate a medical management plan
  • Ability to collaborate with attending physician

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hospitalist or acute care setting preferred
  • 2 years PA experience preferred
