Location: Bergen, Essex, Hudson County practice locations
Hours: Monday to Friday, 800 am - 430pm
Job Overview:- Physician Assistant will provide coverage with evaluation, treatment, and documentation of service for patients requiring orthopedic care in both the operating and office environment
- Assists physician during office hours including nonop, preoperative and postoperative instructions for all orthopedic subspecialities within the practice
- Provides dictation support and documentation of patient encounters, letters of Medical Necessity, Disability Forms, Discharge Letters and conduct patient calls/post-op calls
- Reviews charts preoperatively and documents any pertinent information
- Provides coverage with residents, fellows and other advanced practitioners covering provider on-call schedules
- Liaisons between physician and outside consulting physicians regarding patient care
- Performs assessment and reassessment of the patient according to applicable department standards and identified tools
- Assists physician during hospital rounds with post-op patients and with research as needed
- Participates in and contributes to orthopedic educational activities for appropriate internal and external parties
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Physician
Requirements:- PA-C Licensure
- CDS, DEA, BLS
- Ability to organize and achieve quality performance in a new and changing environment
- Possess good working knowledge of scheduling and procedure prioritization to minimize delays and ensure completion of daily work schedule
- Recognizes areas for improvement in divisional policies or patient care; initiates change; educate all involved in change
