DutiesHelp
- Administers the physical security program. Develops, updates, and recommends policies and standards for diverse agency facilities to ensure consistent application of security controls.
- Conducts physical security assessments and risk analyses. Evaluates controls, identifies vulnerabilities, and recommends procedural, physical, or technological countermeasures to mitigate risks.
- Provides technical oversight for security projects. Reviews design plans and construction documents for renovations and new builds to ensure physical security requirements are properly integrated.
- Acts as the technical point of contact for security issues. Coordinates with internal and external partners like GSA and FPS to resolve deficiencies, track corrections, and ensure compliance.
- Supports emergency management and incident coordination. Develops emergency procedures, provides technical guidance on protective measures, and assists with security training and awareness initiatives.

Background Investigation: All selectees will be subject to a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). You must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance eligibility at the Top Secret level.
Emergency Response / Mission Support: May be required to report for duty or remain on duty during emergencies, continuity events, government closures, severe weather, facility incidents, or other situations affecting personnel, facilities, or operations.
Certification Requirement: Must be able to obtain and maintain any DoD security workforce certification designated for the position by DCAA within the prescribed time frame.
QualificationsYou may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Specialized Experience:You must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 or equivalent level.
Specialized experience must be documented in your resume.Specialized experience is defined as: Supporting the administration or management of a physical security program for geographically dispersed facilities OR Conducting physical security assessments, identifying site-specific vulnerabilities, and drafting risk-based recommendations and corrective action plans OR Knowledge and application of a wide range of Federal security regulations, policies, and standards, including those from the DoD, GSA, and FPS, across varying facility type OR Providing technical physical security assistance for facility projects, including reviewing design plans and recommending the integration of security integration such as access control, intrusion detection systems.
