The OpportunityThe Physical Security Manager at Ally is an integral part of the Physical Security team, collaborating closely with Crisis Management, Corporate Workplace, Executive Protection, and IT partners. Their primary focus is on developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy for managing events and incidents across Ally. This leadership role demands a strong technical foundation, the ability to coordinate across various organizational groups, and effective business management skills to align strategies with key objectives.
This role includes overseeing 121 direct reports to include Contract Security and Coordinators ensuring they meet company and personal development targets while demonstrating exceptional leadership and problem-solving capabilities This mid- to senior-level position involves managing a substantial team of Security Coordinators, concentrated on the Ally Charlotte Center (ACC), as well as the contract security assigned to ACC. This role is considered essential and will be in the office five days a week.
The Work Itself- 7+ years of Physical Security experience with at least 3 years of focus in Incident management preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in criminal Justice or relevant field of study preferred.
- PSP preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing experienced staff in the implementation of Physical Security and Incident Management.
- Demonstrated experience in the identification, plan for resolution and execution of action plans for complex problems in a dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with the principles of Crisis management, incident command, Contract Security, and Physical Security.
- Extensive experience in application technology and testing.
- In depth technical knowledge of software utilized. (Access control, Video, Analytics, robotics, threat intelligence tool, and mass communication software.)
- Work with the Senior Director of Physical Security to ensure the security program addresses identified risks and business requirements.
- Manage the process of gathering, analyzing, and assessing the current and future threat landscape, as well as providing the Senior Director of Physical Security with a realistic overview of risks and threats effecting our facilities and people.
- Provide leadership to team in the implementation of the Physical Security strategy.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and develop subsequent plans of action to resolve gaps with minimal management intervention.
- Work with the Senior Director of Physical Security to develop budget projections based on short- and long-term goals and objectives.
- Monitor and report on compliance with policies and standards.
- Propose changes to existing policies and procedures to ensure operating efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Manage a staff of coordinators, Sr. Analyst, and contractors, hire and train new staff, conduct performance reviews, and provide leadership and coaching, including technical and personal development for team members.
- Provide communication, awareness, and training for audiences which may range from senior leaders to field staff.
- Work as a liaison with vendors, purchasing, and legal departments to establish mutually acceptable contracts and service level agreements.
- Manage issues and incidents and participate in problem solving.
- Manage and coordinate operational components of incident management, including detection, response, and reporting.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the security and credentialing, identify risk, recommend plans to mitigate risk, and communicate information to leaders.
- Manage security projects and provide expert guidance on security matters for others.
- Ensure audits are conducted and reviewed periodically in compliance with policies and procedures.
- Design, coordinate, and oversee security testing procedures to verify our case management, Audit tools, robotics, and security systems are operating as intended and manage the remediation of identified risks.

Base Pay Range$90,000.00 - $150,000.00
An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.
Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
