Location New York, New York Shift: Day Flex (United States of America) Description:
Shape the Future of Pharmacy: Pharmacy Support Specialist - emphasis on financial counseling
In this role, you will work with a team to obtain prior authorization for outpatient medication treatments for patients with cardiac disorders. Expectations include providing documentation and clinical data required by the patient's third-party payer; accurately and completely documenting all information into the electronic medical record (Epic); monitor pharmacy and hospital claim data; identify critical reimbursement issues and discuss financial risk with the patients; refer patients to appropriate agency when financial issues are identified, work with Finance and Billing to resolve issues in an expedient and initiative-taking manner. Participates in training and continued competency activities and performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Preferred Criteria: • Medical field experience • 2+ years of relative professional experience working in a hospital, clinic, physician office, payer business office, case management or social work departments • Proficient in at least (1) hospital electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access) • Knowledge of medical terminology • Knowledge of government and commercial payer requirements to ensure accurate and compliant charging and billing of medications.

Salary Range:
$66,300-$103,000/Annual
