Position Description: In conjunction with Director, responsible for the operational management and strategic planning of the Pharmacy Department. Has 24/7 accountability and responsibility for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Duties: - In collaboration with the Director, responsible for the development of both long- and short-range goals for the department and services that are consistent with goals and objectives of the hospital; ensures implementation of plans and the meeting of goals; and measures compliances in collaboration with hospital administration.
- Establishes course of action for self and others to accomplish a specific goal in concert with organizational objectives; plans appropriate follow-up activities unless otherwise communicated to supervisor with only rare exceptions. Monitors results.
- Provides clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners. Suggests appropriate, cost effective therapeutic alternative to the medical staff as needed.
- Monitors drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, adverse drug reactions and appropriateness of drug and dose.
- Assists Director in developing and implementing department-specific fiscal plans including but not limited to departmental budgets, compliance and monitoring of budgeted parameters. Takes appropriate corrective action while providing organization and direction for resource allocation according to the scope of services.
- Split time between administrative responsibilities and working as a clinical pharmacist.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Requirements: - Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; Pharm.D. preferred.
- 5-8 years of experience, preferably in Acute setting.
- Current licensed pharmacist in South Carolina.
- Pyxis experience with knowledge of Pyxis reports preferred.
