Job Summary
The MEE Pharmacy Manager ensures successful furnishing of continuous pharmacy services to MEE patients across hospital-licensed locations and in collaboration with MEE staff. This individual serves as the Manager of Record for the main campus pharmacy and a satellite clinic pharmacy location. In this capacity, they will be responsible for aspects including, but not limited to, regulatory compliance, financial stewardship, workflow design and quality improvement initiatives, and overall effective pharmacy services at both locations.

This leader reports to the MGH Director of Pharmacy Operations and have a 25 to 30 FTE team comprised of technical and professional staff. They will collaborate across MGH and MGB pharmacy leaders to ensure sustained, integrated success in care delivery, including but not limited to Clinical, Distribution, Compounding, Perioperative, and Infusion services.

Directs daily operations of pharmacy services.

This position directs and supports pharmacy staff. Participates in determining the department's short- and long-term goals and related policies and procedures. Provides leadership and guidance to the pharmacy staff.

Essential Functions
-Provides leadership, guidance, and serves as a role model to those professionals under his/her supervision.
-Supervises and directs the daily operations of pharmacy services. Schedule and assign staff
-Serves as a resource person regarding pharmacy policies to pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff.
-Participates in on-call responsibility as assigned.
-Responsible for staff development and performance evaluation.
-Assists in the recruitment, interviews, and training of new staff.
-Participates in the development of policy and procedures.
-Conducts educational programs, in-services, and staff meetings.

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree Pharmacy required or Doctor of Pharmacy Pharmacy required

Master's Degree preferred.

Pharmacist [State License] - Generic - HR Only required

Experience
Related Pharmacy management experience 2-3 years required and Related Pharmacy management experience 3-5 years preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must have excellent verbal, written, and quantitative skills.
- Displays a comprehensive knowledge of department operations.
- Shows knowledge of the pharmacology of drugs and the legal aspects of dispensing.
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills to educate and supervise staff, normally acquired after three to five years of related hospital experience in a progressive, large health care organization and through self-directed education.
- Can work accurately and make decisions under stress and with time constraints.
- Strong attention to detail.
