Full Job Description
The Pharmacist will perform clinical and operational duties, including clinical assessments, prescription processing and compounding, as they pertain to providing safe and effective sterile preparations and infusion therapies.

Essential Job Duties
  • Maintain thorough documentation of clinical activities which includes reviewing and verifying patient orders, conducting assessments and medication reconciliations, monitoring drug therapy outcomes, and providing consultations to healthcare professionals and patients regarding drug use and therapy adjustments.
  • Supervise and participate in the preparation of sterile compounded medication, dispense medication and related supplies/equipment, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as USP 797/800 standards for sterile compounding and hazardous drugs.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively and positively with the pharmacy staff, all other Pentec departments, physicians and their office staff, clinics, and patients. The communication could include clinical functions, patient and operational meetings, patient scheduling and conference calls.
  • Maintain clinical skills through continuous learning, assist in the clinical education of pharmacy students, participate in pharmacy quality commitment (PQC) activities, and support departmental operations including on-call rotations and obtaining necessary licensure.

Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • B.S. or Pharm. D. from an accredited school of Pharmacy. Licensure in good standing to practice pharmacy in the state in which the pharmacy is physically located.
  • Experience in clinical management of home infusion therapy patients. Experience in sterile compounding including knowledge of USP 797/800 guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving abilities, ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks concurrently, ability to understand and maintain principles of confidentiality and HIPAA.

Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel via car, train or plane, stand (up to 8 hours or more), sit, walk, see, hear; use hands and fingers regularly, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Salary Range: $120,000-$125,000 annual
