Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform cardiopulmonary bypass for adult perfusion procedures.
  • Assist with venovenous bypass for liver transplants.
  • Set up and operate RIS devices, cell saver devices, IABP, VAD devices, and ECMO/ELSO devices.
  • Perform and monitor hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemoperfusion for cancer procedures.
  • Provide standby coverage for PTCA, TAVR, and TEVAR procedures.
  • Educate patients, families, and allied health professionals.
  • Evaluate new products utilized in clinical or surgical settings.
  • Contribute to research in collaboration with CII and CARE.
  • Monitor and maintain point of care and diagnostic equipment.
  • Precept perfusion students.

Job Description Summary:
Perform all adult perfusion services.

Job Description:
  • Performs cardiopulmonary bypass for adult perfusion procedures
  • Assists with venovenous bypass for liver transplants
  • In charge of the setup and operation of the RIS devices, cell saver devices, the IABP, various VAD devices, and ECMO/ELSO devices
  • Performs and monitors hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemoperfusion for advanced cancer procedures
  • Performs or provides standby coverage for percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA, TAVR, TEVAR)
  • Provide educational functions for the patient, family members and allied health personnel.
  • Provide evaluations on new products utilized in clinic or surgical OR
  • Contribute/conduct to research in collaboration with CII (Cardiovascular Innovation Institute) and CARE (Clinical Cardiovascular Research)
  • Performs and monitors equipment for AngioVac procedures
  • Monitors and maintains point of care and diagnostic equipment
  • Precepts perfusion students
