The Senior Specialist, Employee Communities will play a pivotal role in connecting employees with each other and fostering connection to the mission and identity of BAE Systems. You will be responsible for driving the implementation and growth of our Communities of Purpose (CoP), keeping them aligned with business priorities and ensuring programs are impactful and accessible to all employees.
Responsibilities include:- Provide strategic direction,planning, execution, and oversight to national and local CoP programming and events, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
- Lead the selection and onboarding processes, and ongoing guidance for Communities of Purpose leaders, fostering strong, trusted-based relationships to drive their success.
- Plan and execute the annual Communities of Purpose Conference, including logistics, content, and stakeholder engagement.
- Establish, maintain, and update CoP policies, toolkits, forms, guidelines, and other resources to standardize and elevate CoP operations.
- Manage CoP budget planning and oversee procurement processes to support community initiatives.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communication and content strategy for CoP, ensuring consistent, engaging, timely, and accessible content across the organization.
- Partner with enterprise and sector communications teams to embed CoP updates and stories in other organizational communications.
- Drive enterprise-level project management, maintaining project plans, reporting frameworks, meeting cadences, and risk management processes.
- Shape executive-level briefings and reports for CoP activities, outcomes, and impacts.
- Track and analyze membership, engagement, and program metrics to inform CoP strategy and improvement.
- Collaborate with Segment People & Culture Councils and identify integration points with CoP programming.
Required Skills and Education- Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication, including ability to develop strategic content and draft executive-level presentations.
- Highly collaborative; able to constructively challenge and effectively influence and inspire team members and build broader consensus.
- Ability to work independently, set priorities, plan workflow, and take initiative.
- Capable of working onsite in the Falls Church, VA office at least two days a week.
Preferred Skills and Education- Experience in cultivating employee communities at work, such as communities of practice or employee resource groups (ERGs).
- Experience managing projects within cross-functional or large organizations.
