Responsibilities

Full Job Description
Hometown Pediatrics, a member of Summit Medical Group, is looking for a dedicated Board-Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team! We are seeking a compassionate provider who is enthusiastic about caring for infants, children, adolescents, and their families while supporting high-quality, family-centered care in our pediatric office. This is a full time position that will float among our three offices.

Hours: 40 hours - 4 days a week

Occasional Saturdays

Responsibility Summary: (List does not include all duties assigned)
  • Performs pediatric physical exams, including newborn, infant, child, and adolescent well-visits, obtains age-appropriate medical histories, while following AAP's Bright Futures' guidelines.
  • Maintains and reviews pediatric patient records, growth charts, immunization history, developmental screenings, and other pertinent information.
  • Orders and interprets age-appropriate laboratory, diagnostic, and screening procedures for pediatric patients.
  • Assesses acute pediatric illnesses and chronic conditions, finds preliminary diagnoses, and develops therapeutic plans in collaboration with physicians as needed.
  • Reviews, posts, and communicate test and examination results to families in a prompt and proper manner.
  • Educates parents, guardians, and patients about medications, treatments, nutrition, development, immunizations, injury prevention, and illness prevention.
  • Helps physicians in managing acute and long-term pediatric medical needs, including asthma, allergies, ADHD, weight management, and other common childhood conditions.
  • Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits for pediatric patients and their families.
  • Triages pediatric nursing and family telephone calls, provides guidance, and escalates urgent concerns appropriately.

EDUCATION: Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

EXPERIENCE:A minimum of three years of provider experience in a clinic setting, with pediatric primary care or pediatric urgent care experience strongly preferred.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of Tennessee with Pediatric Board Certification; current BLS certification needed.

Employment is contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug test.
