ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include working in all aspects of the patent practice, preparing and prosecuting applications, conducting research, leading inventor meetings, patent strategy and in general assisting on matters and proceedings before the USPTO. Excellent writing and oral advocacy skills are required, as part of the responsibilities also include personal interviews before USPTO examiners and appearances before the Board of Appeals.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field required; graduate degree a plus.
- Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) required.
- Four to six years of patent drafting and prosecution experience preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Work Environment & Physical Demands- This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITSThe salary ranges for this position apply to New York, Princeton, and Washington, DC. The salary range reflects a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a position. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $130,000 - $220,000.
