As a Partner at Doane Grant Thornton, you will have an opportunity to:

Strategic Impact
• Lead the growth and evolution of our Domestic Tax practice in Vancouver and across Coastal British Columbia, aligned with the firm's broader strategy.
• Leverage your entrepreneurial mindset, taking ownership of practice growth, build market presence, and create lasting value for clients and the business.
• Play a leading role in expanding our Private Company Practice and identifying new opportunities in the market.
• Influence strategic decisions and help define the future direction of the practice.

Client Experience
• Be the trusted advisor business owners rely on for growth, transition, and key business decisions.
• Build lasting relationships with private company leaders and help them navigate tax complexity and plan confidently for the future.
• Deliver strategic, practical advice that creates long-term value for clients and their businesses.
• Collaborate across Tax, Assurance, and Advisory to bring the right expertise to every client relationship and help business owners achieve their goals.
• Mentor, coach, and develop the next generation of tax leaders

People Leadership & Collaboration
• Grow and develop the next generation of tax leaders through coaching, mentorship, and shared experiences.
• Build strong relationships across the firm, partnering with colleagues to deliver the best outcomes for clients.

Key Requirements

Education
• Completion of Bachelor or Master's Degree in related field: Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Law, and/or Taxation.
• Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Designation and completed CPA Canada's In-Depth Tax Program.

Experience and Attributes
• 10+ years' experience in public accounting or related industry
• Significant tax planning and compliance experience including an in-depth understanding of Canadian Corporate taxation matters
• Demonstrated experience growing a practice and business development which focuses on client relationships and proactively anticipating market needs
• Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to be an active participant in the development of the tax team
• Develop solutions with clients and co-workers through collaborative effort and discussion
• Commitment to quality, excellence and continual professional growth for yourself and for those you lead
• Excellent written, and verbal communication skills, including exceptional interpersonal skills to earn the trust and confidence of clients and colleagues at all levels and influence decision-makers
