The Rolea16z is expanding its event spaces in our New York office, including a private dining room and dedicated spaces for receptions, content sessions and other gatherings. These spaces will host a high volume of events throughout the year, most of them in the evening.
The NY Events Space Lead owns these spaces end to end and runs them like a high-end hospitality business inside a venture firm. You are the front door for every event in the building: you decide what gets booked and when, and you make sure every guest gets a first-class experience.
Most of your work is in partnership with our Events team. They own event strategy, programming and guest lists; you make everything about the space work, coordinating AV and IT, security, food and beverage, and running the day of. For smaller events, you will run the event end to end.
This is a hospitality and stakeholder role as much as an operational one. You will manage requests from GPs and teams across the firm with competing priorities, hold a high bar for service, and own the budget, vendors, operational process and partners behind every event.
This role is based in New York, in person at our SoHo office, and regularly includes evenings. It reports to the Head of Events, with support from the New Media operations team.

- Own the P&L for the spaces: the operating budget, per-event costs charged back to hosting teams, and vendor pricing
- Select and manage our hospitality partners and event vendors, including contracts and compliance
- Serve as the main liaison with Workplace on space readiness and facilities, with Security on guest access and guest list screening, and with IT and outside AV vendors on technical needs
- Own the event intake forms and workflow, the shared calendar and pre-event deadlines, and write the playbooks and service standards that keep every event consistent
- Build and manage a bench of trusted contract staff for overlapping events, and report on usage, cost and guest feedback to keep improving how the spaces run
- Maintain a strong partnership with the Workplace Experience (WX) team to ensure cross-functional collaboration

- A track record of high-touch service for VIP guests, and the discretion to handle sensitive guests and situations with care
- P&L ownership, including budgets, vendor contracts, pricing and cost control
- Exceptional stakeholder management: able to say no to a senior person, explain why, and keep the relationship
- Experience running several events at once, in one night and across a week, without losing the details
- Comfort working with security protocols, guest lists and access control, and closely with facilities, IT and AV teams
- A systems builder who creates processes and tools others can follow, and is comfortable in workflow tools like ClickUp
- Calm, warm and decisive on the floor with high standards on how to execute events and spaces
- Low ego, high empathy, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
- Available for regular evening events in New York
- Bonus: experience at a members' club, luxury hotel, a restaurant group's private events team, or in-house corporate hospitality
