The Rolea16z's Frontiers organization operates like an internal startup within the firm, building AI-native software that helps a16z discover, evaluate, and support the world's most ambitious founders. The Global Partnerships (GPX) team is dedicated to crafting an outstanding client experience for our trusted Limited Partners ("LPs"), and Frontiers is building the product foundation that makes that possible.
We're looking for a Product Manager to embed with GPX and own the product roadmap for the systems that power it, including LP reporting and communications, fundraising workflows, relationship and access management, and the data infrastructure that ties it all together. You'll work directly with GPX stakeholders and Frontiers engineering and design to turn LP needs into prioritized, shippable work. You'll be hands-on: scoping problems, shaping requirements, and shipping alongside engineers rather than handing off a spec and waiting.
This is a high-trust role. You'll work with sensitive LP data, partnering closely with GPX, Finance, Legal, and Frontiers leadership. You'll have real ownership from day one and a clear chance to shape how a best-in-class product function supports an investor relations team.
This role requires an in-office presence 2-3 days a week in our San Francisco, CA office.
To join our team, you should be excited to:- Partner with GPX stakeholders to translate LP and firm needs into a clear, prioritized product roadmap
- Execute end to end on GPX products, from discovery and requirements through shipping and iteration alongside Frontiers engineers
- Improve the systems behind LP reporting, capital activity communications, and firm performance updates
- Shape workflows and tooling that support fundraising, LP relationship management, and access to firm content and events
- Handle sensitive LP and performance data with rigor and discretion, and bring a strong point of view on data governance
- Run user discovery and drive adoption within GPX, turning feedback into product decisions that hold up under scrutiny
- Represent GPX's needs in Frontiers's broader roadmap, and bring Frontiers's product practice to a relationship-driven, non-technical team
Minimum Qualifications- 4+ years of experience in product management or product engineering, ideally including AI-powered or data-intensive products
- Experience building internal tools or workflow software for a relationship-driven, non-technical stakeholder group
- Comfort working with sensitive or confidential data, with strong instincts for data governance and access control
- Strong product judgment and the ability to turn ambiguous workflows into clear requirements
- Track record of shipping product end to end in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trust quickly across investing, GPX, and engineering
- Low ego, high empathy, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
The anticipated salary range for this role is between $269,000 - $314,000, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.
This role is eligible to participate in the a16z carry program and various discretionary bonus programs, as well as benefit and perquisite plans including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401(k) plan, vacation, and sick leave.
