Minimum 7 years of experience in a counseling role within HR

Full Job Description
Reporting directly to the Head of Human Resources, the main responsibilities of the HRBP are to provide generalist HR expertise and support the Montreal office. The HRBP will also participate in the creation and implementation of local and global projects such as: the appraisal process, the integration of new employees, the career development program, etc.
What you'll do:
HRBP
Providing support and advice to managers and employees on the full range of HR queries and issues (e.g. performance management, employee relations, policy information, disciplinary and absence issues, etc.)
Expert on Quebec employment legislation; providing information and advice on local practices to managers
Developing a strong understanding of all company policies, procedures, benefits, and pay related information in order to interpret and advise accordingly
Creating, adapting, and reviewing policies as required
Creating, developing, and giving soft skills training on a regular basis to employees and managers
Developing annual training program with internal and external trainers for employees and managers
Undertaking HR projects with the local and Global HR teams, such as the appraisal process, the integration of new employees, the automation of HR processes, pay equity, the Health and Well-Being program, etc.
Taking part in different committees (internal and external), such as the Health and Safety Committee, the Training Committee, The Fire Warden Committee, ACCESS VFX, etc.
Responsible for the leaver process including exit interviews, providing leaver details to payroll, and completing all documentation
Keeping accurate records of all changes to employee status, including, but not limited to, salary, title, etc.
Developing a deep understanding of benefits packages in order to be able to explain them to employees as required, and ensuring that they are accurately described and tracked through payroll
Working with the Head of HR to ensure key management reports are accurate
Supporting the Head of HR in creating any government reports
Representing Framestore externally at job fairs, VFX events, VFX associations events, etc.
HR Systems/Database
Ensuring HR systems are updated and maintained with the latest employee information
Providing advice on system usage to all employees and managers on site
Immigration
When required, managing the work visa process; obtaining certificates of sponsorship and advising on procedures.
Keeping up to date with legal changes to immigration and communicating with key stakeholders
Proven experience in a similar role in both small and large-sized companies (minimum of 7 years in a counselling role)
Strong knowledge of local laws and legislation
Ability to manage projects from beginning to end
Ability to work independently without direct supervision; self-sufficient and a self-starter
Well-organised with strengths in prioritizing, time management, forward planning, and attention to detail
Strong confidence in building relationships and dealing with all levels of staff and management
Deep understanding of all HR documentation and confident delivery of information listed above
Diplomatic with the ability to maintain confidentiality
Strong negotiation skills
Works well under pressure while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in his/her work
Flexible attitude in order to achieve results
Proactive in problem solving
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (French and English)
Intermediate/advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, HR database
Previous experience in managing the immigration process including applying for and obtaining work permits and/or entry visas preferred (an asset)
CPHR (CRHA) certification (an asset)
