Parks Maintenance and Operations Superintendent. The position is primarily scheduled Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with flexibility required to work after-hours and weekends as needed.

Minimum Qualifications• A bachelor's degree in Parks Management, Horticulture, Resources Management, Landscape Horticulture, or a related field; and
• 5 years of progressively responsible experience in parks maintenance, and operations, and/or planning including at least 2 years of lead or supervisory experience; and
• 2 years of experience using a computerized asset/maintenance management work order system; and
• A Playground Safety Inspector Certification, ISA Certified Arborist, or Arizona Certified Landscape Professional within 1 year of hire or promotion; and
• A valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Desired Qualifications• Certifications in pesticide application, Certified Sports Field Manager, or project management are also advantageous.
• Experience in supervising staff, managing budgets, and overseeing large-scale projects such as facility construction or renovation.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience, including managing teams and coordinating with stakeholders.
• Proven expertise in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs, construction projects, and facility maintenance.
• Ability to develop and execute long-term plans for park improvement, sustainability, and programming.
• Strong knowledge of green initiatives and sustainability practices in parks and recreation management.
This is a regular full-time position subject to a 6-month probationary period. Should another position become available, a register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months.
