Position Overview

Subject matter expert in corrugate packaging. Strong technical knowledge, able to identify value opportunities in corrugate that will generate Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) value as well as simplified product offerings and supply base. Will collaborate with the plants, procurement leadership and commercial to successfully execute projects.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO
  • Establish a category strategy for corrugate packaging.
  • Build and maintain relationships with main corrugate suppliers.
  • Travel to plants and identify corrugate opportunities that will generate value.
  • Understand market dynamics in the corrugate industry. Able to identify reasons for increases and forecast future corrugate dynamics. Can interpret industry standard indexes as it relates to corrugate price and can suggest or develop alternate indexes that are reflective of actual cost increases.
  • Able to identify cost to produce elements of a box.
  • Strong project management skills. Proven track record of driving a project from idea to completion.
  • Able to work collaboratively and influence multiple stakeholders from operators at the plants to executive leadership.
  • Anticipate and identify supply and business continuity risk and supports developing mitigation plans with category and cross functional teams.
  • Publish regular status reports outlining project status, risks, and issues and effectively present and communicate with senior leadership

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field
  • 5+ years packaging engineering and manufacturing experience with corrugate and other paper products.
  • 3+ years of accomplished project management experience
  • Industry knowledge a plus - established relationship with key corrugate suppliers, work experience in the corrugate industry or plastic packaging industry.
  • Proven experience in developing cost models, managing multiple projects, and complex projects
  • Proven strong interpersonal skills to communicate project plans, goals and objectives and coordinate resources to complete projects within scope.
  • Proven ability to communicate, influence others and manage multiple resources
  • Understanding of corrugate contracts and key elements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Microsoft Project, and SAP.
  • English language capability.
