Senior Underwriter - UW08CA

As a Middle & Large Business Construction Underwriter, you'll lead the sales and underwriting process for complex construction accounts. You'll partner closely with agents, brokers, and internal stakeholders to deliver sustainable, profitable solutions.

Your role will include:
  • Leading underwriting and pricing strategy for complex construction risks, including loss-sensitive and structured programs
  • Managing account stewardship, renewal planning, and retention strategies
  • Evaluating loss experience, risk controls, and insured financials to support loss-sensitive decision-making
  • Driving strategic planning and operational excellence across your portfolio
  • Identifying cross-sell and up-sell opportunities across casualty and related lines
  • Collaborating with a high-performing, results-oriented team in a shared-success culture

Note: Final position title and level will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications.

This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Add locations) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$99,600 - $186,000

The posted salary range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
